What does “healing” mean to you?
For me, “healing” means closure. It means relief from the past.
What are your dreams for the future? What do you want to accomplish/achieve?
I want to become a youth pastor and help my community.
What is something you wish people knew about you?
I wish people knew that I am very sensitive.
Have you ever felt like someone made assumptions about you, based on the fact that you were incarcerated? What were those assumptions? How do you challenge those?
People have made the assumption that I am uneducated, based on the fact that I was incarcerated. I don’t challenge it; I just demonstrate my intelligence.
What is your favorite thing to do?
My favorite thing to do is to make people laugh.
What do you do for fun?
For fun, I like to sightsee around this beautiful Bay Area.
What is your favorite memory?
My favorite memory is being found suitable/the commission saying I was suitable.
What are your favorite qualities in yourself?
My favorite qualities in myself are the fact that I persevere, I am kind, generous and compassionate.
What are you most proud of?
I’m most proud of the fact that I didn’t give up on myself.
Who are your biggest role models?
My biggest role models are my best friend Terah Lawyer and my advocate Lilli Paratore.
What else would you like to say about yourself?
I am forever grateful and in a state of gratitude.
