UnCommon Law engages in strategic partnerships with law schools, public policy and social welfare programs, private firms, and other organizations to provide pro bono services to clients to expand the impact and reach of UCL and to conduct policy research to support UCL’s legislative goals. Current partnerships include the Post-Conviction Advocacy Project at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law — which trains law students to work with and ultimately represent UCL clients — and attorney Lilli Paratore’s Equal Justice Works Fellowship, sponsored by Baker McKenzie and Apple, Inc. — which supports UCL’s work to reach more people in women’s prisons. In the past, UCL has also partnered with Stanford Law School, the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Law, and University of California, Hastings, College of the Law.
