Kierra Brown (she/her), Program Support Assistant, graduated from University of Colorado, Boulder, in 2020 with a BA in International Affairs and a certificate in Global Environmental Affairs. During her undergraduate career, Kierra studied the relationship between environmental degradation and racism within indigenous communities around the world. After graduating, she moved back home to the Bay Area and began working at the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights as a policy intern. There, Kierra learned the importance of shifting resources away from systems of punishment and towards systems of healing.

Kierra is passionate about working within an abolitionist framework to advocate for marginalized people in the incarcerated community, such as queer and trans folks. She is currently enrolled in San Francisco State’s Paralegal Certificate program, and hopes to graduate next fall.
