Israel Garcia (he/him), Program Manager, Home After Harm, holds three AA degrees, including one with Honors in Social and Behavioral Sciences from Coastline College. Prior to his release from Valley State Prison in 2020, Israel graduated from the Offender Mentor Certification Program and worked as a mentor in the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program. He holds an AOD (Alcohol and Other Drugs) Certification, and is a certified Substance Use Disorder Counselor, I. During his time in prison, Israel was also one of the first mentors in the Youth Offender Program. He is a certified Braille transcriber, and facilitated Braille transcription programs, as well as participating actively in many additional programs inside prison.

Israel is currently enrolled with Project Rebound at San Francisco State University, and is pursuing a degree in Sociology. In his role as the Program Manager for Home After Harm Pilot program at UnCommon Law, Israel oversees the development of our Pilot curriculum and manages the Pilot team.
