Eryn Yuen, MSW, (she/her), Associate Clinician, received her BA at UC Berkeley with a double major in Legal Studies and Social Welfare. This would foreshadow her indecision of whether to pursue becoming an attorney or a social worker. After two fellowships through AmeriCorps’ JusticeCorps program and the Alameda County Public Defender’s Office, she committed to social work with the end goal of working with individuals who have been convicted of serious felonies. Eryn then returned to UC Berkeley for her Masters in Social Work where she stumbled across UCL as an option for her second year internship placement. She was immediately drawn to the work and thoroughly enjoyed her time as the Clinical Intern under Julie Hess. Upon completion of her MSW and internship, Eryn was brought onto staff as a Clinical Associate. She is currently working towards licensure and splits her time between UCL and The Psychotherapy Institute located in Berkeley. She is committed to walking alongside her clients towards healing and freedom and humanizing people in prison to those on the outside.
