Christina Svenson (she/her), Director of Communications, is a strategic communications leader focused on elevating overlooked stories and shaping narratives that advance more equitable systems. Prior to joining UnCommon Law, she served as Communications Director at For The People, where she built and scaled the organization’s communications infrastructure to support the national expansion of an emerging area of law and advocate for the safe release of incarcerated people across the country.

Previously, Christina worked at SutherlandGold, a communications agency serving clients in a wide range of sectors, from healthcare to sustainability. There, she helped lead high-impact campaigns, including launching the nation’s first car-free city and expanding access to affordable healthcare. She also worked at the nonprofit Girls Inc., where she designed and led gender-responsive programs to foster literacy, leadership, and belonging among school-aged girls in Oakland.

Christina holds a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley. Originally from Panama, she is also a published poet.
